A RARE ILLUMINATED PERSIAN POETRY BOOK IN NASTALIQ, 17TH CENTURY
This rare 17th-century illuminated Persian poetry manuscript is a beautiful example of the Nastaliq script, featuring 122 finely illustrated pages. The manuscript displays traditional Persian artistic craftsmanship with elaborate decoration and vibrant colors highlighting select verses of poetry. Each page features meticulously handwritten text accompanied by intricate geometric and floral designs, all encased within a well-preserved red leather binding. The first poem begins with the verse "أيها الساقي" (O Saqi), followed by various other poems from different poets, and also includes some works by the renowned Persian poet Saadi Shirazi. All poetry in the manuscript is written in the elegant Nastaliq script.
