This beautifully illuminated Ottoman scribe certificate (Ijazat) of Ismel Alhaq, dated AH 1272 / AD 1855. The document is richly decorated with intricate floral and geometric designs, typical of Ottoman manuscript artistry. The calligraphy is rendered in elegant black ink against a vibrant backdrop of blues, greens, and golds, framed by ornate borders.
The reverse of the document features additional script and decorations. The certificate folds into a compact format, a traditional style for Ottoman Ijazat documents.
